We know planning a wedding is stressful enough as it is, so here at Eskay we are working to prevent any unnecessary drama leading up to your big day. Your bridesmaids are some of the most important women in your life and making sure their dresses fit flawlessly is of the upmost importance. Here are some helpful hints to make the experience the easiest.

When should I order my dress?
We recommend a bride order her dress 6 to 8 months before the big day.   Dresses can take  often take 4-6 months to arrive, since they are being made order. When you factor in alterations, it can take much longer. This will allow adequate time for the dress to come in for alterations to be made. There are rush options, but rush fees do apply. We recommend shopping for the dress 9 months to a year before your special day.

How much do your dresses cost?
We have a wide range of prices and make it our mission to provide affordable, quality merchandise for our customers.  Please stop by the store to inquire, or feel free to call us during regular business hours if you have specific pricing questions.

Who should I bring with me?
Purchasing your wedding gown is a very monumental experience in a woman’s life and you want the people closest to you there! By bringing those closest to you, you are able to focus on what is really important, finding your dream wedding gown! We recommend keeping your group when shopping to small, as more opinions in large groups can be very overwhelming for the bride. We suggest bringing only 1-3 close friends or family members who know you the best and whose opinions you value. Bringing more than 3 guests can take the focus off of you. And children get bored easily.

Should I make an appointment?
Appointments are highly recommended at Eskay.  Appointments should be made as early as two weeks in advance from the requested date. We require that appointments be made at least 48 hours in advance.  Weekend appointments tend to book up quickly, so we recommend calling or requesting an appointment online as soon as possible. All alterations or fittings require an appointment. Please give us a call at 406.577.2259, email us, or make an appointment online to schedule your appointment.  You can also visit our Contact Us page to see our normal business hours.
**Note: Appointments are required for all fittings/alterations.

What should I bring with me to my appointment?
We recommend that you bring the proper undergarments with you if you will be trying on dresses (proper panties and a strapless bra.) If you have any special items or accessories that you plan on wearing on your wedding day, it would be a good idea to bring those too, especially if it is a veil or a piece of jewelry.

What is a boutique style store?

In order to offer our customers the most diverse selection possible, Eskay Bridals operates as a boutique style store which means we feature a wide variety of gowns but typically only stock one sample of each dress.  When you find the perfect gown we will then special order the dress for you in your desired size and color.

Why should I purchase a gown through a bridal boutique?
We are here support you throughout the entire process from start to finish. We will help you to select a dress that is perfect for the day, your style, body type, and of course your budget. We offer in house alterations and are happy to store your gown here until your special day. Often online shopping for bridal gowns can be a scam. If the price is too good to be true, it probably is and will end up costing you more in the long run. Most seamstresses will not work on dresses that were purchased online, due to poor quality fabric and construction. We’ve heard from countless girls who thought they were getting a great deal shopping online just to have their weddings ruined when their gowns either did not arrive on time for the wedding or were cheap knock-offs of the designs they thought they were purchasing. When you purchase your wedding gown at a full-service bridal salon, you’re buying much more than a gown – you’re buying peace of mind and expert service.   Reputable bridal salons such as Eskay Bridal, stand behind their products and will do everything in their power to make sure your wedding is just as you dreamed. Don’t be one of the Brides who come see us in tears.

Are alterations included in the price of the dress?  Alterations are always an additional cost.  Because it cannot be determined when trying on sample dresses what kind of alterations are needed, we are unable to include alterations in the cost of a dress.  On average, alterations for bridesmaids dresses cost anywhere from $10-$60, and anywhere from $30-$400 for bridal gowns.  Average bridal alterations are $100 to $300. If you have questions about alterations be sure to ask your bridal consultant, or give us a call.  We would be happy to answer any questions you may have. We do provide alterations on bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses if we have time, but we do charge an “out of store” alteration fee in addition the the alteration costs on dresses that were not purchased at Eskay Bridal.

  • Get professionally measured! Measurements are extremely important when ordering a dress and ensuring your measurements are correct is essential to choosing which size to order. Feel free to have any of your bridesmaids stop in at their convenience and we will measure them, free of charge. If your bridesmaids live out of the area have them visit a local bridal shop or seamstress to ensure they are accurate.  Formal gowns come in stock sizes from standardized size charts only and are designed to be tailored with alterations to your figure for a perfect fit.  Alterations should be expected for the majority of gowns (the most common alterations include hemming, adjusting straps, and taking in the bodice).  If your gown does not fit perfect with standardized size charts of the companies, our skilled team of fitters and seamstresses can alter or customize any gown and make it truly yours.
  • Just because you’re wearing a size 8, doesn’t mean you’re always a size 8! When it comes to different types or even brands of clothing, sizing can vary. When it comes to our bridesmaids dresses it is not uncommon that women leave ordering a size or two different than usual. Our manufacturers have a size chart that doesn’t typically parallel most clothing brands. If you come wearing a size 8 BCBG dress, it’s not uncommon that you would order a size 10, or even 12, Mori Lee Bridesmaid dress.
  • Getting measured doesn’t mean you’re getting a custom dress! When we ask for your measurements, or take them it doesn’t mean that your dress will arrive fitting like a glove. Dresses are not made to the measurements of your body. The measurements taken are to match you to a size on the  designers size chart. We always recommend ordering off your largest measurement, for example if you measure at a 6 in the bust but an 8 in the hips, it is better to order an 8 and expect to alter the bust. When your dress arrives it is not uncommon to expect a hem or other small adjustments as well, like the before mentioned bust alteration. We offer in house alterations that we know will have your bridesmaids leaving as close to perfection as possible. If you have questions regarding pricing for alterations, feel free to give us a call at 406-577-2259.

Are all sales final?
Yes they are. Once a dress, veil, shoes, jewelry, and head piece have been ordered, they cannot be cancelled and no money will be refunded. However, we make it a priority to help you find a dress that is perfect for you and will do our best to make sure you are happy with your purchase!
